“We had the pleasure of having Nancy present at our Staff Conference in the Fall of 2023.  Our agency, Hillside, is a large non-profit in New York state, that works with youth, adults and families in both residential and community based services.  Attending the conference, and Nancy’s presentation, were staff in a variety of positions from maintenance, and food services to social workers, direct care staff and leaders.  I had the pleasure of attending both of Nancy’s presentations across the 2 days.

Everyone who attended, including myself, walked away with more knowledge about trauma, TBI, the impact of both on the brain and potential treatment options.  Comments from employees after the conference included that it was informative and insightful and that they came away with resources and information they could put to use immediately.  Many of the people we work with have experienced trauma and Nancy provide us with in depth information about the impact on the brain and how a brain injury can add complexity to that.  Nancy kept everyone in the audience engaged and provided them with new information that improves the quality of service that we provide to youth, adults and families in the communities we work.”

I read Nancy’s book about a year ago. I had no idea what Nancy was experiencing growing up, none. We had classes together. There’s a picture of us in High School with my arm around her. The book has been sitting on my bedside table ever since. I usually lend books out but I can’t part with this one. This book will change you…for the better.

Was personally useful to me having MS and also being in a vehicular accident. Speaker waa organized and concise.

This training could not have been more informative. I left, not feeling overwhelmed with information, but feeling like I could retort findings and facts. I love that I have things I want to look further into because of this training.
